Law & Order: UK - Series Two
The cream of British acting talent are back together for the second series of the hugely successful 'Law & Order: UK'.
Employing the original series' iconic two-part structure that focuses first on the investigation of a crime at the police level and then shifts in its second half to the prosecution of the suspects, 'Law & Order: UK' approaches the format and characters from a uniquely English perspective.

Did one police officer stand and watch a fellow officer die on the streets of London?
That's what Detectives Ronnie Brooks and Matt Devlin are told and they have to investigate
in the opening episode of the second series...
Young Pc Nick Bentley is shot and killed when he gets caught in a war between drug dealers.
His partner, Pc Ray Griffin (guest star Jamie Forman), says Nick shouldn't have been on his
own but they got separated while on foot patrol. Brooks and Devlin think it's a tragic but
straightforward case and soon catch drug dealer Theo Carson.
But Theo's statement shocks them and their boss, DI Natalie Chandler. Theo claims the young
uniformed officer wasn't on his own when he was shot, his partner was there and stood
watching while Nick bled to death. Why would he do that? Brooks and Devlin discover that
Nick was gay - and that his partner is the head of a Christian group that doesn't accept
homosexuals.
At the CPS (Crown Prosecution Service), James Steel and Alesha Phillips think they can prove
Griffin was duty-bound to help his dying partner. But their boss, George Castle, doesn't
agree. He doesn't want to upset the working relationship they have with the police and thinks
the force won't be with them. James and Alesha don't want to let Griffin off the hook,
though...
