Soccer Aid 2012
Soccer Aid is back! The epic sporting event will be kicking off on Sunday 27th May at Manchester's legendary
Old Trafford stadium and will broadcast live on ITV1. Two star-studded squads of footballing legends and
high-profile celebrities from England and the Rest of the World will compete in an electrifying football match
all in aid of UNICEF, the world's leading children’s organisation.
The brainchild of Robbie Williams and UNICEF UK, this year's event will once again be hosted by Dermot O’Leary
with Dave Berry getting all the reaction from the game on Soccer Aid: Extra Time on ITV4 after the match.
An array of Hollywood stars, footballing heroes and some of the UK’s most famous faces will battle it out to win
Soccer Aid 2012. Once again, Robbie Williams will captain the England team with Welsh movie star Michael Sheen
leading the Rest of the World.
Who better to be named the England coach as ex-footballer Bradley Walsh. He rightly qualifies for the postion as
scoring for England in the Penalty shoot out at Soccer Aid 2010, and he also has coaching skills learnt from his
filiming of Mike Bassett England Manager where he played Dave
Dodds, the England Coach for the World Cup.
In the lead up to the big event, Dermot O’Leary will present 3x30 minute exclusive shows from player’s hotel on
ITV1. These programmes will feature some hot off the press moments from the squad’s training sessions, the latest
news and gossip, plus unprecedented access to the big names as they prepare to battle it out for the Soccer Aid
crown.
